I am very satisfied with the work that Smith, Bailey, & Associates performed on my house after lightning struck it in September of ’06. Needless to say, both my wife and I were extremely concerned about hiring the right company to return our house to its original stature. Our concerns were heightened when we received phone calls from friends warning us about problems that they had had with their contractors after fire had damaged their homes. I called a local contractor who had completed some remodeling work on my house and he recommended Smith, Bailey.
I called the day after the lightning strike and Rob Bailey and Jeff Phalan were at my door in less than 2 hours. They were very personable and offered reassurances that they could indeed return our house to normal. They worked with my insurance company to settle on an estimate of repairs and the work began that same week. Jeff Phalan was in charge of the repair and I found him to be easy to talk with and true to his word about when things would get accomplished. Jeff had said that the work would be finished by the end of the next month and he was accurate in his prediction.
Probably the most impressive fact about Smith, Bailey is that all the workers that spent time at my house were extremely friendly and highly-skilled. My house looks better than it did before lightning came a-knockin’.

I can’t thank you enough for all, Chris, Dennis and everyone at Smith Bailey did to get Vecoma repaired so quickly after our pipe burst. I am amazed and very grateful that you were able to have everything repaired and ready in just 3 weeks – in time to host a wedding for 200 guests! When the sprinkler pipe burst, I had no idea what to do! The building was in terrible shape. The bathroom ceilings had come down, HVAC vents were full of water and our wedding hall was flooded I called several companies at 3:30 AM and Rob was the first to call me back within 30 minutes! You arrived on the scene at 6:00 am and had a crew ready to start work by 7:00 – Amazing! I truly was so lost and desperate not knowing what to do and Dennis provided the guidance and support needed. Chris managed the vendors I needed to dry out the building, put in new flooring and completely redo the damaged bathrooms, have the drapes cleaned, etc. Smith bailey kept everyone on schedule so we did no lose any business or have to send our bride to another facility. We had close to $ 50,000.00 damage to our house from a fallen tree. After speaking to several contractors and remodelers, we determined we needed a professional in disaster reconstruction, and chose SMITH, BAILEY & ASSOCIATES. They handled everything: demolition, framing, roofing, flooring, electrical, plumbing and finishing down to the garage doors. Bill Johnson was our superintendent and kept us informed regarding who was going to be here and when. He worked with us on any changes we had in mind. All subcontractors were efficient and courteous. Brad and I were away on a trip and our house flooded for ten days. We returned to a disaster. We chose Smith, Bailey & Associates as our contractors and moved into an apartment. The thing that I appreciated most about their company was the integrity of their employees. I always felt comfortable having them in our home. I wanted to take a minute and thank Smith, Bailey and Associates and all that were involved in the repairs of my house. The people working for your company and the people representing your company were very professional and very friendly. They were there on time and as scheduled. The roof repairs went well. They completely removed all the roofing, repaired the damaged wood planking and replaced the shingles.
Any issues that I had were quickly addressed and taken care of.
The replacement of the siding for the chimney also went very well. They replaced the siding as noted on the estimate and even after the repairs were done, I had an issue with one side of the chimney and they came back and fixed the issues I had.
Repairs to the sheetrock inside also went very well. I had concerns of mold and mildew and they checked thoroughly both outside when the chimney siding was replaced and also did patch checks inside on the drywall.
The painters did a great job both inside and out. They completely painted the ceiling and all the walls in the living room, foyer and hallways. In fact, I will hire these painters to do a complete paint job on the outside of the house this coming spring.

Dear Smith, Bailey & Associates,
On December 25th while spending Christmas with family, we received one of those calls that no one ever thinks will happen. A lieutenant of the Marietta Fire department informed us that our house had caught on fire, we lost one of our cats, the fire was out and we should come home as soon as possible. Nothing in the world can ever prepare you for that moment when you pull up to your home with fire trucks and neighbors in your yard. The kitchen
was totally destroyed. Cabinets hanging off the wall, appliances melted, windows broken, and smoke damages everywhere. A plug outlet shorted in the kitchen starting the fire.
As we reflect back on this experience, we know that Smith, Bailey and Associates strong Christian representation on and off the job helped us to get through this traumatic experience. Everyone we spoke with regarding our situation told us horror stories about their contractors and that is what we expected as well. However, this was never the case.
We have moved back into our beautiful new house five months later. We would be totally remiss if we did not tell about and recommend your company to everyone. We do this on an almost daily basis.

We wanted to let you know that Ralph & Mark did an excellent repair & paint job on the damage to our ceiling & hole in the wall.   One cannot detect that there was ever any damage done to our ceiling.
The damage happened when the cable installer fell through our ceiling.  We don’t understand why it took 9 business days to turn the claim over to their insurance company but once it was turned over, things moved fast.
Your company was called by the insurance company on June 6 th and you had the job finished in 4 days.  That was fantastic!
